About

Hello, my name is Alex Waltz, and I’m a motherfucking Bitcoiner.

I co-organize the Bitcoinology[1]The vibe is something like movie buffs but with Bitcoin meetup with waxwing.
If you want to see our past events click here.

I heard about Bitcoin in ’12 on 4chan while I was a Computer Science student.
I immediately[2]Truth be told I gave up on college a year before, but I was hanging around quit CS, and ever since then every waking second of my life was about Bitcoin.

Over the years I have been involved in multiple projects ranging from mining[3]Mined in the door rooms for a while and was involved of 3 mining farms to building apps[4]None took off, and more recently I had an OTC desk in London, which I closed down because it just wants not fun anymore.

Currently, I am kinda trying to figure out things and got stuck on the topic of entropy[5]But that can change at any time.

Things I often talk about:

  • Bitcoin[6]From low-level bit operation stuff to its role on the planetary scale
  • Cryptography
  • Entropy
  • Markets
  • Meditation
  • Hookers
  • How to make something the best
  • Aesthetics
  • Philosophy[7]Talking about what you read in a philosophy book, is not talking philosophy
  • Products
  • Meaning of things
  • Business

I really like to meditate, and I think is one of the best things i started doing in my life.

I also play guitar.

I mostly like old stuff[8]Most of the people I listen to are ded, but my musical taste varies from more traditional blues to old school Rock and RockNRoll, to Jazz( anything from Gypsy Jazz to some walking base to Duke Ellington or even some old Jazz standards[9]No, I’m not fat there its the low camera angle) to even a bit of funk.

I also this conversation I had with Phil, really puts in perspective who I am.
